General Assembly
General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA), during which overall policies for carrying out the purposes of the Association are discussed and determined via democratic process. It is during General Assembly that our social justice statements are passed, which determine the public policy priorities of the UUA. Also during GA, the UUA holds a public witness event where we express Unitarian Universalist values out in the communities in which our general assemblies are held. General Assembly is held each year for five days in late June, starting on the last Wednesday and ending on the last Sunday. This year, it will be June 24-28 in Salt Lake City, UT.
This year at General Assembly, congregational delegates will:
- Elect a new president to lead our Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations
- Vote on whether to approve the proposed amendments to our Principles and Purposes
- Vote on whether to approve the draft Statement of Conscience, "Peacemaking"
