This is the same room where, on May 17, 2004, the wedding of Hillary and Julie Goodridge took place. The Goodridges were the lead plaintiffs in a law suit against the State of Massachusetts that resulted in legalizing same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. Theirs was one of the first legal same-sex marriages in the United States. Rev. William Sinkford, president of the UUA at that time, officiated.
