Evensong, Volume 2

An Eight-Week Series of Gatherings

Barbara Hamilton-Holway

"When we offer others the gift of our presence, they open up the truths of their lives to us and in return, we also may speak our truth. This spirit of mutuality and reciprocity nurtures respect, safety, trust, and warm regard."
—from the Introduction

In Evensong, Volume 2, Barbara Hamilton-Holway offers eight new gatherings: Childhood Memory and Knowing, Scripture and Story, Prayer and Spiritual Practice, Fear, Generosity, Hospitality and the Stranger, Being Alive and Beliefs and Actions. Specifically designed for small groups, these worship services fulfill both the need for spiritual growth and the longing for community. Each service includes singing, readings and discussion. This intimate format allows congregation members to make lasting connections with each other, and emphasizes the concept that "honest, loving speaking and respectful, open listening make community."

Barbara Hamilton-Holway is co-minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Berkeley, California, and author of the Evensong series and Who Will Remember Me? A Daughter’s Memoir of Grief and Recovery, all published by Skinner House Books.
