For Writers & Freelancers
We are looking for editors and authors for the following projects:
Live a Life of Faith
Explores the importance of faith in our lives. Possible themes might
include: generosity, forgiveness, redemption, celebration, community-building.
Rather than a how-to, we are hoping for inspirational prose that describes for
the reader the shape and feel of a life of faith.
Sermons for Children
Similar in format to the
Skinner House title, Everyone a Butterfly: 40 Sermons for
Children, this collection would feature sermons and stories on the topic of
giving. As currently envisioned, we see this collection including selections
from many people, but we would consider proposals from authors who wish to
include only their own work.
Worship Resources for Children
Might include such
elements as opening and closing words, chalice lightings, readings, and prayers,
special holidays, as well as presentation suggestions.
We are currently seeking proposals on these topics:
- how to nurture tolerance in our children
- how to talk to children about spiritual subjects
- spirituality in the workplace
- spirituality and/or spiritual practice in everyday life
- social action as a spiritual practice
- aging and spirituality
- young adulthood and spirituality
- prayer collections
- how to become a social justice activist
- nature and spirituality
- interconnectedness; living the values consistent with our "small planet"
- collected stories for children
- cultural appropriation vs. cultural diversity: how to strike a balance
- worship resources
- stories about congregational life that focus on a particular theme, such as
- welcoming blended families
- nurturing diversity
- nurturing social activism
- managing grief
- managing conflict
- nurturing intergenerational contact resources for small group ministry
- Unitarian Universalist history and culture in "coffee table" format
