350.org International Day of Climate Action Press Materials

Background Information

The International Day of Climate Action, organized by 350.org, is a worldwide initiative comprised of more than 2,000 events in over 140 nations. The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) has endorsed the 350.org campaign, which is dedicated to creating an equitable global climate treaty that lowers carbon dioxide below 350 parts per million.

The UUA has supported environmental protection for over forty years. Our association voted in 2006 for a Statement of Conscience on the Threat of Global Warming/Climate Change acknowledging the danger of global warming and pledging to take action. The UUA media kit on environmentalism provides links to press coverage of our green initiatives and additional background information.
