Countering Religious Bullying Aimed at LGBT Youth
Presenter: Dr. Donald G. Hoppe
Sponsor: Interweave Continental
Three quarters of teens report that peers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), or even perceived to be, are bullied in schools and communities. Frequently this harassment is based in misguided religious beliefs. This seminar presented an overview of spiritual violence against youth and offered guidelines for prevention and intervention.
