Toward the Goal of World Community
Mindful of both the world’s brokenness and the potential for reconciliation, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) has a long history of commitment to energizing Unitarian Universalist congregations by facilitating their engagement in transformative international partnerships. Guided by this vision, President William G. Sinkford led a Unitarian Universalist pilgrimage to Africa in November 2008.
The lessons of this journey have inspired the UUA to strengthen its relationships with indigenous Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist groups in Africa. We have an exciting opportunity to create partnerships between congregations in the United States and those in Kampala, Uganda and Lagos, Nigeria. This is a crucial first step in building bridges and cultivating Right Relationship with our African partners.
We are seeking to raise $10,000 before June 30 to move this project forward and enable the UUA International Office to create these two unique partnerships.
