In this Season of Hope
Did you know that Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) President Bill Sinkford recently returned from an historic Unitarian Universalist pilgrimage to Africa? There, he met leaders of the Truth and Reconciliation Movement in South Africa and visited Île de Gorée—embarkation point for millions of enslaved Africans and today an UNESCO World Heritage site that bears witness to the horrors of the Middle Passage.
Rev. Sinkford also connected with thriving communities of Unitarian Universalists—existing for years in South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria—that take the lead in the powerful struggle against HIV/AIDS, poverty, and repression.
In his holiday letter, Rev. Sinkford reflects on this profoundly inspiring experience and calls us, as people of faith, to continue affirming the human capacity for compassion through our actions in the world.

Volatile Markets, Charitable Solutions
Why have over 400 Unitarian Universalists (UUs) set up a Charitable Gift Annuity that will ultimately benefit their congregations, the Unitarian Universalist Association, and other UU entities across the country?
With fixed income rates between 5.7% and 10.5%, individuals age 65 and older are finding that Charitable Gift Annuities are a great way to achieve financial security while simultaneously supporting the faith they love.
