Is this safe?
This event is very safe. The rappelling is run by Over the Edge, a company with over ten years of experience and success managing events like these all over North America.
Who will rappel?
Individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary generosity to Unitarian Universalism will be invited to rappel, as will our Over the Edge raffle winners.
Are there any physical limitations?
Rappellers must be between 100 and 300 pounds and at least 18 years of age. Rappellers should be in good health. Those with preexisting medical conditions should consult their physician.
Over the Edge has experience with supporting rappellers with many types of physical and cognitive disabilities and can discuss options for accessibility in advance of the event. If you register for the raffle to rappel, please be sure to mention any accessibility concerns.
Where do my financial pledges or gifts go?
Financial pledges and gifts will go to the Rev. Terry Sweetser Fund for Stewardship, a fund at the Unitarian Universalist Association supporting stewardship in our congregations and growth throughout our faith.
Where do my Brave Pledges go?
All pledges of future generosity will be displayed prominently during the event at General Assembly, with your name. Pledges may be shared through web communications to inspire further acts of generosity.
