The Principles of Fair Compensation call congregations to:
Congregations are urged to enroll their employees in the Unitarian Universalist (UU) Organizations Retirement Plan since ministers' retirement benefits from our denominational plan receive the same IRS housing tax advantages as their earned compensation. Congregations that reach the Fair Compensation level of a 10% contribution for their employees offer their staff the opportunity to increase their retirement saving with the employees’ own salary reduction contributions.
Currently, all employees working 1,000 hours per year are eligible for the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Retirement Plan.
